Around 175,00 people from across England and Wales assembled in London on Saturday, 15th February 2025 to demonstrate their support of the Palestinian struggle for liberation, to highlight the UK government’s complicity with Israel’s genocide and the ongoing arms trade, and to say “no” to Trump.

This was the 24th demonstration with all of them noted for being peaceful with people of all ages and backgrounds participating in them. As usual, ICAHD UK joins with hundreds of others in marching with the Jewish bloc.  The route this month went from Whitehall, along the Embankment and south to the US Embassy at Nine Elms.

The fact that so many people participated in the march illustrated that they were not deterred from getting out onto the streets again following the aggression, bullying, kettling and arrests made by the Metropolitan Police during the previous national march on 18th January. What happened that day has been widely condemned by MPs and organisations including ICAHD UK which endorsed the letter sent to Sir Mark Rowley, Metropolitan Police Commissioner.

During Saturday’s march there was much focus on President Donald Trump’s plan to take over Gaza and expel the Palestinians, which is totally against the will of the Gazans and would be a war crime. Other themes addressed from the platform included the complicity of journalists and politicians who must be held accountable for their support of Israel’s war on Gaza and how Israel is threatening to end the ceasefire and annex the West Bank.

What marchers want is a world order that is grounded in human rights with equality for all and respect of international law. Those who have come out month after month since 7th October 2023 have created a community of conscience who call for a better world.

The next national march is schedule for Saturday, 15th March.
