All those involved in the Palestinian struggle for liberation must understand that the issues are complex and we must have the analysis and understanding at hand to help create a political programme that is relevant and what the Palestinians need.
Strategies must be identified that will monitor and then fight back against Trump’s Peace Plan in Gaza which is nothing more than “colonization for profit” where Trump’s organisation, Arab and European real estate people and Israel make the money and keep control. With the coastline turned over to tourism, Palestinians will be relegated to restricted areas in the “back of Gaza” near the border with Israel.
Israel’s “Gazafication” of the West Bank is spreading from the north of the West Bank where it is breaking Palestinian resistance. More than 40,000 Palestinians have already been displaced, and 50 shepherding communities have disappeared to make room for 40 new settler outposts. Recently, Israel carried out a major military operation in Hebron.
To get round the law as defined in the Fourth Geneva Convention, this week the Israeli cabinet decided to allow its civil administration that governs the West Bank to use its military government to open the West Bank to the real estate market that will allow settlers to purchase Palestinian land. In addition, Israel will take over further Palestinian land through the guise of archaeology and environmental controls, and more is planned even within Areas A and B and as Israel takes over religious sites within the Hebron and Bethlehem municipalities.
In the update, Jeff displays a map from Israel’s Ministry of Defence that shows its plans to leave Palestinians with even less than 10% of Palestine in an apartheid state.
But it is not over yet. Jeff concludes with suggestions about ways to address what is happening on the ground. We all need to be doing more than what we are already doing. The reason why so many people were affected by demolitions during January is due to the demolition of the UNRWA’s headquarters in East Jerusalem on 20^th January. In an unprecedented attack at the headquarters of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees whose premises are protected under international law, the demolition represents deliberate defiance of the rule of law and undermines its ability to operate, serving the refugee population.
On 12^th January, Israeli forces had stormed into a UNRWA health centre in East Jerusalem and ordered it to close. In the coming weeks, water and power supplies to UNRWA facilities are scheduled to be cut, including to buildings used for health care and education.
The Foreign Ministers of Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom signed a joint statement strongly condemning the demolitions by the Israeli authorities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) headquarters in East Jerusalem, on 20 January 2026. However we believe that without sanctions, nothing will change.
Why is this important? Palantir, a secretive US tech company is embedded within UK public services which includes running a huge patient database for the NHS. The company was co-founded by a billionaire Trump donor that also provides tech to Trump’s ICE immigration agency and to the Israeli military.
Ministers have the option to cancel the NHS deal early and getting the NHS deal scrapped could lead to a domino effect that sees all their contracts ended.
Amidst the Trump world chaos of Minnesota, Venezuela and Iran, and against the tragic background of a so-called ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza, 100,000 people turned out in solidarity for the 34^th National March for Palestine in Central London. A peaceful march in support of Palestinian resilience in the Gaza strip and West Bank, amidst freezing winter conditions in Gaza and increased IDF & settler violence in the WB. As we know, more than 500 have been killed in Gaza since the latest ‘ceasefire’ including one child a day. Devastating and trivially evil border exclusions like tents - but no tent poles - and no baby formula just illustrate the ongoing Israeli strategy to make life unliveable for Palestinians
It was heartwarming to see photographer Misan Harriman once again amongst those documenting the march. He has been a daily outspoken spokesperson for the ongoing injustice, calling out by name ‘the great and the good’ and celebrities to put their heads above the parapet and speak out in solidarity, even if, like him, they lose friends and work opportunities in the process. Check out his Instagram where he also praises the many Jewish voices joining our protests.
Speeches on the march were graphic and emotional, introduced by PSC with the defiant statement that “we won’t stop protesting until the sun rises on a free Gaza and a free Palestine”.

Jeff Halper's February Update:

This Week's Dramatic Developments Within the last few days, there have been dramatic developments in the Palestinian struggle for liberation, therefore it is impossible to capture the significance of what has happened within a short 20-minute summary. Here is an action that can be completed quickly that can make a real difference. Keep the pressure on Prime Minister Keir Starmer and let him know that we want all public contracts with Palantir scrapped.
Don’t delay. Sign the petition here.

Congratulations to Huda Amouri, Co-founder of Palestine Action, and all those around her who provided support as she appealed the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation in the High Court. Today the High Court ruled that the proscription by the UK government was unlawful. Although we know that the government is going to appeal the decision, today’s ruling strengthens our rights against disproportionate, politically motivated interference See the Report on the National Demonstration for Palestine
