Bringing you news of June's Palestine Lobby Day (#Lobby) , the 'Prevent' strategy meeting (#prevent) , a vigil for Gaza (#vigil) , and ICAHD's summer festival participation (#festivals) ...

Time doesn’t stand still and now we are writing this brief message to make sure you are aware of several forthcoming events. Assistance is sought at some of them so please consider how you could contribute.

Lobby Day

So far over 140 MPs have been asked directly for meetings by constituents and this is expecting to increase to around 200 on the day therefore there is a need for help with stewarding and also with other tasks. Martial Kurtz from PSC is coordinating the volunteers so if you can help please contact him directlybut also copy in Ruby .

Please let Martial know the following information: Name Email Mobile number Organisation: ICAHD UK Times available (for one slot at least): - 1pm to 3pm - 2.30pm to 4.30pm - 4pm to 6pm

It is suggested that volunteers arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of their slot, to go through security and to get ready.

Prevent Strategy Meeting

Thursday 25th June

During our conference weekend we heard a little bit from Jeff Halper about the spread of Global Palestine, including in the UK. This meeting entitled ‘PREVENT: tackling extremism or criminalising dissent?’ begins to address what is happening here. This meeting will address speaking out for justice and human rights: challenging the government’s Prevent strategy and the Counter-terrorism and Security Act. Speakers include Peter Oborne, Associate Editor of the Spectator, Sally Hunt, General Secretary of UCU, Karma Nabulsi, Professor at Oxford University and more to be confirmed. This will be held at Amnesty International's Human Rights Centre in London. For more details and to book your place follow this link (http://www.palestinecampaign.org/events/prevent/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Partner+organisations%3A+3+things+to+ask+you+...&utm_source=YMLP&utm_term=Info+on+Prevent+meeting%26gt%3B%26nb...#sthash.vSzDxCKJ.dpu) .

Friday 10th July

ICAHD UK is supporting the Vigil to mark one year since Israel's attack on Gaza on Friday 10 July as it remembers those who died in the attacks. It will be held opposite Downing Street in Richmond Terrace, 5:30 – 7:30pm. Please let us know if you are able to stand with the ICAHD UK banner as we remember the more than 18,000 homes that were destroyed during the attack.

Greenbelt festival

Friday 28th - Monday 31st August

We are also preparing for this year’s Greenbelt festival (http://www.greenbelt.org.uk) over August Bank Holiday weekend. Jeff Halper will be here for it and he will speak at two seminars (‘Judaizing Palestine’ and the topic of his new book ‘War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians and Global Pacification’). He will also be part of two panels – one discussing Palestine and another on movement building – and the pre-launch of his new book will take place during the festival. ICAHD UK has secured a double-space in the G-Source to showcase our organisation and attract new members and involvement. To make the most of that opportunity we need to enlarge our team working on the event and we may be able to offer a free ticket to the festival if you can volunteer with us. Also for anyone who has already purchased their ticket to the festival, please let us know if you’d be happy to help out with a shift on our stall. Please contact Ruby asap
