Jeff reminds us of the importance of anti-colonial Jews who are working with their Palestinian partners in finding liberation. Do not expect Israel with its settler colonial agenda to voluntarily change its system from the inside.

We must understand that Israel is not ephemeral; Jews will not simply disappear. Not all Israeli Jews have a second passport, so much of the population won’t be leaving.

Jeff refers to the three factors identified by Ghassan Kanafani that resulted in the defeat of Palestinian resistance during the Arab Revolt in 1936 – 1939 and how these factors still apply today. Israel established relationships that serve the hegemons; created Palestinian collaborators and encouraged complicity from corrupt and autocratic Arab leaders.

The event will examine what can be done to empower the Palestinians as Israeli moves to the last stage of implementing its settler colonial and apartheid policies over them. We will also address what needs to be done because of the criminalisation of those who demonstrate solidarity for Palestinians

Additional speakers to be announced. Registrations will open on 1 August. June's Demolition & Displacement Report Photo: Demolished house. Ras al 'Amud, East Jerusalem. 23 June 2026. OCHA

The above are the statistics of demolitions during June in the Occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Demolitions at the end of the month resulted in the spike in the number of people affected. On the 22^nd, a road in Kafr ‘Aqab, East Jerusalem was demolished which affects the lives of 2,645 residents. On the 23^rd, the demolition of 12 livelihood structures in Shu’fat Refugee Camp, East Jerusalem affected 598 people from 12 households.

Demolitions within the state of Israel – another example of Israel’s apartheid policies against Palestinian Israeli citizens

Official data released by Israel’s Southern Enforcement Administration regarding demolitions of structures in the Bedouin towns and villages of the Naqab desert stated that between the years 2023-2025:

14,200 structures were demolished, of which 2,155 structures were inhabited residential homes.

In their 25th June 2026 press release, the Regional Council for the Unrecognized Bedouin Villages in the Negev (RCUV) assesses that If the rate of demolitions continues at the same rate, the first half of 2026 will result in an estimated 17,000 demolished structures, of which approximately 2,800 will be inhabited residential homes.

On average, 4.6 – 4.7 people live in each home in the Bedouin villages, meaning that about 13,000 people will be forcibly displaced between 2023-2026 (based on the government’s statistics and the council’s estimation).

It is important to emphasise that alongside every inhabited house that is demolished, an additional 3-4 structures belonging to the family are also demolished. These usually include sheds, animal related structures, external kitchens and bathrooms, fences, structures used to store water and storage etc.

Photo: Rasheed Khudairy interviewed by Drop Site News - Screen shot - The Crimson Thread

Connect once again with our partner, Rasheed Khudairy , Coordinator of the Jordan Valley Solidarity Campaign, in this powerful eight-minute film about ethnic cleansing in the Jordan Valley. In addition, Rasheed features in the article accompanying it.

The Crimson Thread is a 310-mile barrier that will run along the entire eastern edge of the West Bank and will effectively seal off the Jordan Valley from the rest of Palestine. The film also highlights how the Jordan Valley, known as the breadbasket of Palestine, is drying up because Israel deprives it of water. (These are yet more violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention.)

Ever descriptive, at the end of the article Rasheed said, “We belong to this land,” explaining that he has started keeping some of his knowledge of the area to himself – not writing it down or sharing it publicly, because, he said, whatever Palestinians name and describe can be taken. “They are trying to steal everything – the name of our plants, the song we use when our people harvest the wheat. We have a lot of things we don’t share anymore because they keep stealing more and more.”

Be Ready to Challenge the New Government's Position Photo: Hamish Falconer MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Middle East, Afghanistan & Pakistan being questioned on 7th July 2026.

On 7^th July, Hamish Falconer was questioned by the Foreign Affairs Select Committee about why the government is not banning settlement goods. In his reply, Falconer said that the UK could not do so because there are “enforceability issues” and “effectiveness issues” and “unintended consequences” of sanctioning Israeli settlements. He even said that the British Jewish community might be affected. The transcript of the Select Committee session is available .

Within the House of Commons, many cross-party MPs have time and again expressed their frustration with the answers that have come from Falconer and Yvette Cooper in her role of Secretary of State and Foreign Secretary over many issues about what is happening to the Palestinians. Clearly, under Starmer, our government has been complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza that has spread into the West Bank.

The influence of the Zionist lobby is being revealed. With Andy Burnham likely to become our new Prime Minister on 20^th July, encourage him to enforce international law and stand up again the Zionist lobby. May his resolve to do better when it comes to the Palestinian people be strengthened Continue to lobby your MP who is accountable to you to retain your vote.

Jeff Halper's July Update

What You Need to Know about Israel Today Speaking from Jerusalem, Jeff provides insight into what is happening within Israel. Some people say that Israel is on the brink of collapse, but this is a dangerous illusion. Although there are internal problems which have made Israel vulnerable, without a plan and with no political programme in place, collapse at this stage would be disastrous for Palestinians.

Watch the update for Jeff's thoughts on Netanyahu, Gadi Eisenkot and more

Use the opportunity of Jeff Halper’s time in the UK mid-October to invite him to your locality. Are there people of influence who would benefit from hearing from a critical Israeli Jew with cutting-edge political analysis to help advance the campaigning in your region? Contact info@icahduk.org (mailto:info@icahduk.org) to register your interest. (There are cost implications.) Write to Your MP

EDM on Tent of Nations Ask your MP to sign EDM 502 (https://edm.parliament.uk/early-day-motion/66221/tent-of-nations-nassar-family-farm) - Tent of Nations Family Farm, in support of this Palestinian family that has been in a legal struggle for 35 years to have the ownership of its land recognized by the Israeli authorities. They have experienced repeated settler attacks, harassment, demolition of structures, surveillance and more to force this family off their land. In our June newsletter, we reported on the recent visit by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, to this Christian family t (https://icahd.org/2026/06/25/she-gets-it-the-archbishop-of-canterbury-calls-for-a-just-peace-while-visiting-tent-of-nations/) hat we know so well.

National Demonstration for Palestine

With Keir Starmer being forced to resign, partly to do with his complicity in Israel’s war crimes, we want our new Prime Minister to know loud and clear that we want a Prime Minister who will respect international law and take every action to ensure that the UK government holds Israel to account for its many crimes due to its settler colonial agenda which has never been about justice for the Palestinian people.
