Dahmash demolitions August 4th 2015

Three homes visited in Dahmash during ICAHD’s annual rebuilding camp for internationals were demolished on 4th August, 5 days after our visit. While in Dahmash, an area in the “mixed” city of Lod within the state of Israel, we heard the story of Israel’s extreme discrimination policies over these 700 Israeli citizens because Israel wants them to leave Dahmash so that Israeli Jews can move onto their land.

Atta Jaber - 201q6

ICAHD have worked with Atta Jaber and his family since they suffered their first home demolition in 1998, rebuilding two of his homes after they were destroyed by the authorities and in local arson attacks, and we wish to spread their story of peaceful resistance far and wide. In this 5 minute video you will see Atta explain his story and share disturbing home footage of attacks on his land and family by local settlers.

Atta Jaber and his family are a huge and constant inspiration for ICAHD, and we are tremendously grateful to work with such strong and dedicated people as these, who struggle to resist the occupation every day of their lives, amidst the violence of targeted demolition and harassment.

Demolition in Anata 29 Nov 2004

The house of Jaduah Kabu'ah was demolished on 29 November 2004, for lack of a building permit. In East Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank however, it is nearly impossible to receive permission to build legally. Israel prevents Palestinians from building legally then demolishes the "illegal" houses as a mechanism of demographic control.

To help orient viewers who are familiar with the area, the two structures on the hills in the background are Augusta Victoria and Hebrew University (Mount Scopus). On this same day the House of Muhammed Dandis was also demolished along with 17 structures belonging to the Jahalin bedouin in Anata, including houses. The remaining wall of the house was not drilled but knocked over, taking with it the power line which cut electricity to part of Anata.
