Prime Minister Liz Truss has told the Israeli Prime Minister that she will ‘review’ the location of the British Embassy in Israel, moving it from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Below is a strong letter to our Foreign Secretary explaining why under international law this would be wrong. The letter is written by two distinguished Canadian lawyers.
Please forward this letter to your MP asking that moving the Embassy be opposed.
Alternatively, consider writing your own personal letter based upon points raised by this letter and that found in historian Prof Avi Shlaim’s article. Request that your letter be sent to the Foreign Minister Rt Hon James Cleverly MP. Now is the time to do this while the government is weak and in trouble over Kwasi Kwarteng’s announcement about the Conservative government’s new economic policies.
