ICAHD lends support to Stop the JNF, an international campaign that aims to end of the role of the Jewish National Fund (Keren Kayemet LeIsrael – KKL - in Hebrew) because of the JNF’s role in:

  • the on-going displacement of indigenous Palestinians from their land
  • the theft of their property
  • the funding of historic and present-day colonies, and
  • the destruction of the natural environment

Stop the JNF maintains that the JNF continues to serve as a global fundraiser for Israeli ethnic cleansing, occupation, and apartheid. Despite its role in a State institution of Israel (the Israel Land Authority) and in institutionalized racism and apartheid, the JNF and its affiliate organizations enjoy charitable status in over 50 countries and many also enjoy consultative status with the United Nations.

During the study tours to Palestine/Israel done in association with ICAHD, there is always a focus on the JNF. Participants learn about the JNF’s historic role and the ongoing work which is highlighted in both the Occupied Palestinian Territory and within the state of Israel which is explained within the settler colonialism framework.

ICAHD UK collaborates with Stop the JNF-UK  to strengthen its campaigns within the UK.

JNF: Do Not Evict the Sumarin / Sumreen Family

We campaign on behalf of the Sumarin / Sumreen family in East Jerusalem so that this Palestinian family is it not evicted by the JNF and its subsidiary Himanuta from its rightful home. See the campaign page here.

Please note that the family name may be written as eith Sumarin or as Sumreen - both refer to the same family.

Charity Commission: Hold JNF UK to Account

Members of ICAHD UK were present along with other activists representing Stop the JNF and Palestine Solidarity Campaign when they handed in an open letter to the Charity Commission in London. The letter was signed by over 4000 people and demanded that it revoke the JNF UK’s charitable status because of its role in the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. The activists were joined by Tommy Shepherd, MP who along with some others read out statements received from Palestinians who spoke of how actions taken by the JNF have affected their lives.
