Wednesday 7 August 8pm – 10pm

at

The Lighthouse, 43-45 West Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DB

If your in the Edinburgh area, come along to a dynamic double bill:

  • Daphna Baram, Director of ICAHD UK; and
  • Jane Dallas Ross, recently back from three months working with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).

Daphna will be talking about ICAHD’s work as a non-violent, direct-action group dedicated to resisting the Israeli Occupation of the Palestinian Territories. ICAHD focuses on Israel’s policy of demolishing Palestinian homes (almost 50,000 in the OPT since 1967) entailing constant dispossession and displacement, both as a key issue in the Occupation and to hold Israel accountable for the human cost of the Occupation.

Jane will explain the key principles by which EAPPI (the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel) operates and, based on her recent experience with the programme, will talk about what daily life under occupation is really like, what the Israeli peace movement is doing and what can be done to promote a just peace in Israeli-occupied Palestine.

There will be much to learn with plenty of time for questions and discussion.

This event is free and no booking is required. It is organised by Scottish Jews for a Just Peace
