Join us on Thursday 21st March 2019 at the Trades Club, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire HX7 8EE for our next Laughing For Palestine fundraising event - doors open at 8.00pm.

The evening will be headlined by the brilliant up-and-coming comedian Tez Ilyas, well known for his appearances on Live at the Apollo, The Now Show, Mock the Week and as Eight in the successful BBC3 sitcom Men Like Mobeen. Blackburn-born Tez hit the ground running. In his first three years as a stand up, he found himself in no less than eight competition finals including the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award and Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year. In 2015, Tez achieved phenomenal success with his debut stand up hour TEZ Talks. A sell out run at the Soho Theatre and his own BBC Radio 4 series based on the show followed, with a second series released in 2018 and a third already commissioned.

Bradford-born comedian Isma Almas won The First Laugh at the Sheffield Comedy Festival in 2006 and was a semi-finalist in So You Think Your Funny the same year. Chortle described Isma as having '... great set with some fantastic material. She left everyone in her slipstream.' while the Edinburgh Festival Reviewer described her simply as a 'Crazy Pakistani Lady'!

As well as regular circuit gigs at comedy clubs across the UK, Isma has performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, at London’s Barbican Centre for Stonewall, at Bradford’s Literature Festival and on a raucous luxury gay cruise around the Med.

More details of Isma's life and work are available on the Glee website.

Mo Omar is a fast rising talent with a unique perspective.

Somali-born, Cardiff-raised and London-based, Mo won the Leicester Square New Comedian Of the Year 2017 competition and was a semi-finalist in the So You Think You’re Funny and the Amused Moose 2017 competitions. Mo is currently making short-form videos for the new BBC Wales platform BBC Sesh and has been described by Chortle as having '...a winningly irreverent attitude to sacred cows, with a fresh and feisty delivery that gives him a contemporary edge’.

The MC for the evening will be stand-up comedian and ICAHD UK Director Daphna Baram. Israel-born human rights lawyer / journalist Daphna has been gigging relentlessly in the UK, Ireland and Scotland since 2009 and has taken shows to Brighton, Edinburgh and Leicester Fringe festivals. She supported Ava Vidal in her 2012 tour, and ran MissD's Silver Hammer comedy club in Hammersmith. According to the Huffington Post, Daphna's '...a vibrant on-stage raconteur full of energy and arch knowingness that you'll remember"
