Comedian Frankie Boyle will perform for ICAHD UK’s Buy-A-Brick fundraiser show at the Edinburgh Fringe. The show Laughing For Palestine will take place on Monday 13 August at 16:15 at the Ballroom of The Counting House under the auspices of the Free Festival. It will be MCed by ICAHD UK’s Director, comedian Daphna Baram. ICAHD UK is grateful to Free Festival’s Alex Petty for generously allowing ICAHD UK to use the room. More acts are to be announced shortly, and tickets will be released for sale before long, so watch that space!

Frankie Boyle is one of the UK’s most beloved, wild and controversial political comedians. The number of times he was thrown out of BBC panel shows “to never be allowed back” matches only the number of times he was allowed back in “under strict conditions” ever to be broken. He is a longtime supporter of the Palestinian struggle for justice, and he very kindly agreed to our request to help the Buy a Brick Campaign. The campaign is aimed to purchase 10,000 eco-friendly traditionally made mud bricks in order to construct a community centre in the Jordan Valley. The centre, at the heart of one of the most deprived areas of the West Bank, will serve 13 Palestinian communities for cultural activities. It will be build by local Palestinians and international volunteers as a part of ICAHD and TORAT TZEDEK’s October Camp: Build, Harvest, Learn.
