How Do We Advance the Palestine Issue in the Age of Trump & May?

ICAHD UK’s 2017 spring conference on Saturday, 13th May 2017 will address the fast-changing reality with US President Donald Trump’s blatant support of Israel, including the status of Israel’s settlements, his plan to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and his overall disregard of international law.

Amnesty International Human Rights Centre
New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA
Conference 11.45 – 17.15
Fee: General public £30, Members £25, Unwaged £15  includes welcome refreshments, information pack and lunch
Early bird price £25/£20/£15 available until 8th March 2017

Will international law ever be enforced? Can we find hope in the UN? The UK has also entered a new era under Teresa May’s government which is sucking up to America, implementing the Brexit vote and which has redefined anti-Semitism. What should be our priorities in the year when the centenary of the Balfour Declaration is commemorated?  What is the response from ICAHD and other organisations as new challenges are faced?

Featured speakers include:
Jeff Halper, Co-Founder Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, professor of anthropology, activist and analyst. His books include ‘Obstacles to Peace’, ‘An Israeli in Palestine’ and ‘War Against the People’, 2006 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

Ardi Imseis, PhD Candidate in the Department of Politics and International Studies at Cambridge University, and a former Visiting Research Scholar in the Department of Law at the American University of Cairo; Ardi comes with twelve years experience in senior policy and legal capacities with the United Nations in the Middle East.
