Today, August 2nd, has been an eventful culmination of our rebuilding fortnight together. This started with a hard mornings’ work on site in the 42 degrees heat, adding finishing touches to the house, cleaning, painting, and building a platform stage for our closing ceremony.

During the ceremony we planted some trees, sang a song, helped carry in the belongings of the Fhadad family into their new house, handed over the keys of the new home, and were treated to a performance from local Dabka dancers, before the children finally took to the stage to show off their dance moves.

It has been an incredible few weeks that have bought us together as campaigners against this brutal occupation and the issue of house demolitions, yet this feels like it is only the beginning of our work together.
