18,000 Homes Destroyed ......................... January 2008 ......................... 18,000 Families Ruined

hebrewbannerAs part of the continuing outreach to the Israeli public, the 18,000 Homes Campaign now has a web banner in Hebrew that leads to a dedicated page on the web site. The new banner can be viewed on the ICAHD Hebrew Home Page. When the banner is clicked, viewers are taken to the special landing page. During January this extension of the campaign is being promoted to Israeli web sites and blogs in an effort to widely place the banner in Israeli cyberspace.

englishBannerIn the meanwhile the English banners and widgets continue their viral distribution on web sites and blogs around the globe. Over 500 sites are now displaying one of the banners. Please continue to promote and distribute this important public education tool.

This advocacy campaign is currently being supported entirely by grassroots donations. Many of you have contributed generously. The donations page is always open.

Jeff Halper's New Year's Message
Jeff_santa

Dear ICAHD family, friends and supporters, this is just a note wishing you all a good, good, happy and productive New Year, with peace finally coming to Palestine, Israel and our whole global community.

In this very difficult moment in the seemingly intractable Israel/Palestine conflict, in which we have invested so much effort and have experienced the pain of the conflict so personally, we need to reaffirm our commitment to the struggle for a just peace and, no less important, to support each other in friendship and solidarity . . . . . more

Advocacy & Activism
In partnership with two other activist organizations, New Profile and Ta'ayush, ICAHD will be bringing activists to two projects in the West Bank over the next few weeks. In coordination with the Constructing Peace Campaign and Palestinian villagers the activists will participate in the rebuilding of a home, and reconstruct a bridge that was destroyed by the IDF. These activities will demonstrate solidarity with the villagers, provide a venue for civil disobedience, and hopefully generate media coverage.

ICAHD is also helping organize the relief convoy to Gaza on January 26th which will bring basic supplies to the besieged Gaza residents and protest the siege to our government. A coalition of Israeli peace & justice groups are coordinating the event and will bring activists from all over Israel.

TOURS
. . . Day Tours
ICAHD conducts briefings and 1/2-day tours of Greater Jerusalem for groups visiting Israel. Individuals can also sign up for public tours.

. . . Summer Camp
Annually since 2003, ICAHD hosts a rebuilding camp in East Jerusalem, to rebuild the home of a Palestinian family whose house has been demolished by the Israeli authorities. Learn about the 2008 Camp

. . . Spring Study Tour
Each spring and autumn, ICAHD, in conjunction with a UK-based tour company, runs an in-depth ten-day study tour. The next study tour is in March 2008.
